500K Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX SUVs Recalled Over Rear Brakes

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2015-2018 Ford Edge and 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX crossovers over an issue with the rear brakes.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the rear brake jounce hose may rupture and leak brake fluid.

The hazards: a brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: rear brake jounce hose

Affected vehicles: select 2015-2018 Ford Edge models produced between June 25^th, 2014, and December 21^st, 2017, as well as 2016-2018 Lincoln MKZ crossovers built from November 11^th, 2014, to December 21^st, 2017.

Number of vehicles affected: 499,129

The fix: the remedy is currently under development.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on September 8^th, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated for April 2026. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S87.
