Ford F-150 Driver Fails To Use Eyes, Mirrors While Turning: Video

Some drivers often don’t check their mirrors while attempting to make a turn – which is, obviously, a must if you’re trying to get across several lanes of traffic, even if it’s stopped. The driver of one Ford F-150 tried to do just that without looking, ending up in harm’s way not once, but twice, and unfortunately, an innocent motorist had to pay for their mistake.

Posted to the Reddit community r/IdiotsInCars, the video shows a Ford F-150 parked practically sideways in the lane. They started by nosing their way over to the left right in front of the driver recording the video, and then they appear to forget what they’re doing and just stop there, right in the middle of everything. The recorder wisely gives them enough space to mess up again, because the Ford F-150 absolutely does.

It’s not clear what their next goal was. They waited for the right moment to go, putting them right in the side of a passing Hyundai sedan. Ironically, if they hadn’t stopped and waited in the middle of their move, they probably would not have hit the Hyundai. And certainly, the accident would have likely been avoided if they’d actually bothered to check their mirrors, too. The result was a low speed, idiotic accident that had absolutely no reason to happen. Can’t fault the Hyundai driver, either. They had complete right-of-way, and who thinks to check on the other side of a solid white line to make sure nobody’s drifting into your lane, anyway?

The video doesn’t show how things turn out, but we hope that the driver of the Ford F-150 had enough sense to actually pull over and trade information with the poor Hyundai.

Things could have gone worse, of course. The driver of a Ford Edge pulled a boneheaded move in traffic and flipped itself over onto an innocent bystander’s vehicle. And a Ford Super Duty hammered a Mazda Protege in an intersection after they decided red lights were optional.
