The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon Edition just debuted a couple of weeks ago, giving customers of that particular model the chance to snag a version with loads of lightweight carbon fiber, as well as a few other unique features. Now, as The Blue Oval looks to celebrate the arrival of the Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, it has created a new, unique livery for the IMSA Mustang GT3 racer that just debuted at Virginia International Raceway alongside its road-going counterpart.
Seeing these two cars side-by-side demonstrates just how much each shares in common, too. Both are equipped with aggressive bodywork with giant hood extractors and front ends designed to funnel air in various ways, as well as huge rear wings that generate copious amounts of downforce. The Ford Mustang GTD is already available in Carbon Series form and other variants, with goodies like an unpainted hood, roof, and rear Tech Deck, plus Magnetite wheels, but now, it’s gaining even more special touches via the Liquid Carbon package.
The Liquid Carbon model ditches paint and replaces the sheet metal in the doors with bonded carbon fiber, which saves a solid 13 pounds compared to the GTD Carbon Series with the Performance Package. As is the case with the Carbon Series, the GTD Liquid Carbon features perfectly-matched carbon weave on the hood, roof, rear deck, and rear wing, along with fenders and side panels that provide a cohesive look as well. The Liquid Carbon gets unique black Brembo brake calipers, matching an anodized body with gloss-black GTD script, plus the Performance Package as standard equipment.
Inside the cabin, one will find a combination of black leather with Dinamica microfiber suede, plus Hyper Lime stitching on the seats, door panels, center console, instrument panel, and steering wheel. There’s also a reflective center gradient present in the middle of the seats, which adds another bright spot in the otherwise dark cabin. Deliveries of the Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon are slated to begin in October, but no pricing info for the new trim has been provided as of yet.
