Here’s How Lincoln Digital Scent Works: Video

Lincoln prides itself on its line of luxury vehicles that double as spas on wheels, offering comfort features like Lincoln Rejuvenate and Lincoln Digital Scent. First introduced for the redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus and later included in the 2025 Lincoln Navigator, the Digital Scent feature is a unique touch that sets The Star apart from the rest of its peers.

Lincoln Digital Scent is far more than just a built-in air freshener. It features three unique scents, which can be activated using the infotainment system. From there, owners of equipped Nautilus and Navigator models can select the scent they want and set its intensity level, which is then piped throughout the cabin to create a relaxing environment while the vehicle is motion – or just parked.

Toggles for the Lincoln Digital Scent feature include “diffuse at vehicle start,” which automatically starts the system when the vehicle is turned on. Frequency can also be toggled between Continuous, Long Cycle (two minutes with one minute pause), Short Cycle (thirty seconds with one minute pause), or Once.

The scent cartridges are simple to replace once they’ve been spent. They’re located under the center console lid in the “Scent Tray,” which can be accessed by simply pressing a button. There are three slots, and each cradles a specific scent cartridge, which must be placed with the chip facing up so the vehicle can recognize it. Cartridges can be purchased by scanning the QR code presented on the infotainment screen or by contacting a preferred Lincoln dealer.

Three scents are included as standard: Mystic Forest, Violet Cashmere, and Ozonic Azure. Lincoln does offer four more, including Cloud Balsam, Serene Seashore, Twilight Embers, and Sunlight Retreat.

“We are bringing Digital Scent to the all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, allowing our clients to immerse themselves in revitalizing moments during their drive,” said Teresa Cheung, manager of Client Experience, when the feature was launched. “Personalization is important to our clients, and we have allowed them to select their preferred scent to customize their very own in-vehicle sanctuary.”
