New BakFlip MX4 Debuts As All-New Tonneau Cover For Ford Pickups

Offering more than just streamlined looks, tonneau covers protect pickup beds and their contents from the elements while improving fuel economy and security, too. A new aftermarket tonneau cover option for Ford pickups just debuted from RealTruck, available for quite a few pickups in The Blue Oval’s lineup.

The tonneau cover, called the BakFlip MX4 Gen 3, is touted as being more secure than the Gen 2 model it’s replacing. Theft-resistant locks help keep bed contents out of the wrong hands, while a tighter fit ensures that water won’t leak in. Installation is simple, and can be handled by owners of Ford pickups by themselves, if they choose. There’s no need to drill, and takes approximately 30 minutes to secure. The BakFlip MX4 is offered on a range of Ford pickups, including all Ford Explorer Sport Trac model years up to 2013, as well as the 2021 model year and newer Ford F-150. It’s also available for the Ford Ranger,  covering both the 2019 through 2023 models along with the next-gen version that debuted for the 2024 model year. There are also variants available for the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Ford Maverick, and the Ford Super Duty, too.
