1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty Brush Fire Truck Up For Auction

While older Ford trucks are already very popular among collectors and enthusiasts alike, we’ve also seen plenty of fire trucks and brush trucks wearing a Blue Oval badge surface for sale over the years, too. Aside from looking cool and carrying a bunch of equipment, these types of trucks were also typically driven sparingly during their time in service, leaving many with scant few miles on the clock. That isn’t the case with this 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty brush fire truck that’s now up for auction, but it’s a cool find, nonetheless.

This 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty brush fire truck is up for grabs at Bring a Trailer with 116k miles on the clock, which is more than most others out there. However, it looks pretty solid today thanks to a relatively fresh coat of National Fire Safety Yellow paint. The truck started life as a chassis cab model and was subsequently transformed into its current guise, then used by the Weatherford City Fire Department in Texas until it was decommissioned and sold to the public in 2021.

As one might imagine, the modifications here are quite extensive – a Ranch Hand Legend front bumper, Whelen emergency light bar, and front and rear receiver hitches, fender strobe lights, a diamond-plate steel utility bed featuring a headache rack and lockable storage cabinets, a Berkeley water pump powered by a Honda GX660 V-twin, a 300-gallon water tank, a Hannay power-retractable hose reel, a two-inch leveling kit, and Maxxis Mudder Buckshot II tires.

The interior of this fire fighting truck is much simpler, with just a flat gray vinyl bench seat, some toggle switches, an emergency brake warning light, a cabin heater, a digital clock, and an AM/FM radio – and not much else.

Power comes from the turbocharged 7.3L V8 diesel engine, originally rated to produce 235 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque – mated to a six-speed manual transmission – and it has been treated to some extensive maintenance as of late. Given the fact that it’s less than perfect, we wouldn’t be surprised if this Ford F-350 wound up selling for a reasonable price, making it a potentially cool acquisition for the right person.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
