The Ford E-Series may no longer be offered in van form, but we continue to see older versions of that particular configuration surface for sale – many of which have been converted into campers. Turns out, the E-Series is a great platform for such a build, as it’s quite robust, spacious inside, and generally equipped with powertrains well-suited for conquering just about anything. Throw in a four-wheel drive conversion and other upgrades such as what one can find in this 2000 Ford E-350, and it becomes even more capable in that regard.
This 2000 Ford E-350 is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with a bevy of upgrades, starting on the outside with a Raptor-style front grille, a tubular front bumper, towing mirrors, a roof rack and ladder, black wheel arch extensions, clear taillights, and a receiver hitch, along with black Method wheels wrapped with Yokohama Geolander X-MT tires. Underneath, one will find a Sky Fab leaf spring inversion kit, Fox 2.0 Performance series shocks, MG Metal Works radius arms, and axle and track bar brackets, providing a bit of a lift.
Inside the cabin, this Ford E-350 is equipped with gray leather seats with power-adjustability on the driver’s side, plus amenities such as front and rear air conditioning, cruise control, a Kenwood touchscreen infotainment system, auxiliary gauges, and a reverse-view camera.
While the van has more than 250k miles, it is powered by a replacement 6.8L V10 that was just installed earlier this year. It’s mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and F-250-sourced axles with 4.10 gears, helping it go, well, just about anywhere, we’d imagine.
This is just the latest of several Ford E-350 conversions on the auction block that we’ve seen in recent months, however. That list includes a 2004 camper van once owned by the late, great musician Jimmy Buffett, along with a 2009 camper conversion.
