2002 Ford F-150 Boss 5.4 Pickup Heading To Auction

We’ve seen our fair share of nice, low-mile, bone stock Ford F-150 models from recent generations hit the auction block as of late, which seem to be attracting more and more attention – and dollars. However, there are also quite a few unique, limited-edition, and third-party-built examples of the popular pickup out there for the taking, too. That now includes this – a 2002 Ford F-150 Boss 5.4 – which is certainly something that we don’t see very often, in any capacity or condition.

This 2002 Ford F-150 Boss 5.4 is slated to be auctioned off at Mecum’s 2025 Indy Fall Special sale in early October, but it’s not something built by The Blue Oval itself. Rather, it comes from a company called LA West Luxury Vehicles, based out of Indiana, which converted these pickups in 2002 and 2003 with a host of unique features. On the outside, those included a unique hood, body kit, and chrome 20-inch wheels, covered with yellow and black paint in this case.

Inside, this special F-150 features a custom interior as well, in this case, sporting yellow accents to match the exterior. There are plenty of amenities such as air conditioning, cruise control, a CD stereo, and power windows and locks, too.

This particular Ford F-150 is powered by the naturally-aspirated Ford 5.4L V8, though LA West also offered a supercharger as an option. It’s mated to an automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. These trucks were sold through Ford dealers, but LA West only built around 500 units in each of the 2002 and 2003 model years, so there certainly aren’t many around today.

There are plenty of other nice Ford F-150 models from this generation surfacing for sale these days, however – a list that includes a 2002 Lariat with 8k miles, as well as a 2002 XLT with 65k miles, to name just a couple among many.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
