2020-2021 Ford Super Duty Pickups Recalled Over Steering Column Detachments

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2020-2021 Ford Super Duty pickups over an issue with steering column detachments.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the steering column upper shaft may detach from the steering column and result in a loss of steering control.

The hazards: a loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.

Components: steering column upper shaft

Affected vehicles: select 2020-2021 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 pickups built between February 19^th, 2019 and September 30^th, 2020.

The fix: dealers will inspect the steering column, and repair or replace the upper shaft as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on October 6^th, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated December 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S94.
