Given its low production total, high price tag, and general desirability, it’s no surprise that we continue to see various Ford GT models pop up for sale on a regular basis – and those continue to collect mind-boggling amounts of money. That’s especially true of rarer variants of the Ford GT, which tend to sell for even bigger bucks whenever they surface for sale. Now, this 2021 Ford GT Mk II figures to join that particular club for a number of reasons.

This 2021 Ford GT Mk II is scheduled to cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Fall Scottsdale auction in Arizona next month, and it’s rather desirable right off the bat, given the fact that it’s one of just 45 such models produced in total – all for VIP clientele of the automaker, to boot. The non-street-legal machine has just 41 miles on the clock as well, meaning that it certainly hasn’t been used much thus far, which is quite common with Ford GTs, in general.

Finished in race-spec lightweight paint, this Ford GT Mk II was developed by both Ford Performance and Multimatic with a stripped-down carbon fiber body, as well as FIA-compliant aerodynamic parts consisting of an adjustable rear wing, a rear diffuser, a roof-mounted intake scoop, and an extended front splitter. It rolls on a set of center-lock racing wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport racing tires, too.

Inside, it’s pretty clear that the Mk II is a race-focused machine, as the interior is purpose-built with little more than the necessities – a Sparco racing seat, an FIA-approved harness, a MoTeC digital display, a roll cage, a fire suppression system, and very minimal soundproofing. A focus on shaving pounds wherever possible helped the Mk II tip the scales at around 200 pounds less than the road-legal Ford GT, in fact.

In terms of power, that comes from an enhanced version of the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine generating over 700 horsepower, mated to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox, while Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes help slow it down and five-way adjustable Multimatic DSSV dampers handle the curves. It isn’t often that we see any Ford GT Mk II models go up for sale, but one did surface last April, failing to meet its reserve price at auction.
