For many years, auto shows were the place to be for journalists looking to catch debuts of notable new models, as well as where consumers were also able to scope out the latest and greatest in terms of automobiles. Things have changed a lot in recent years, however, and auto show attendance has been on the decline, all while fewer automakers are bothering to show up and participate. However, the 2026 Detroit Auto Show will feature some notable names, including The Blue Oval.

The Detroit Auto Show has rolled out its list of this coming year’s participating automakers and brands, and the list includes Ford, along with Toyota, General Motors, and Stellantis, as each of which has confirmed that it will be in attendance on January 14th-25th, 2026, at Huntington Place. “These four automakers don’t just make cars – they move markets,” said Sam Klemet, Executive Director of the Detroit Auto Show. “Having Ford, GM, Stellantis, and Toyota at the forefront of the 2026 show underscores just how important Detroit remains to the global auto industry.”

Detroit Auto Show execs noted that more automakers and brands will be announced in the coming months leading up to the 2026 installment of the show, too. Whether or not Ford plans to unveil any new products there or make any big announcements remains to be seen, but that has been the case on numerous occasions in past years. In fact, the second-generation Ford GT debuted at that very same event back in 2015.

More recently, the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 also made its public debut at the Detroit Auto Show, which was rather notable. However, Ford’s luxury brand, Lincoln, has been absent from some big auto shows in recent years, on multiple occasions. That includes the 2023 and 2024 New York International Auto Show, one of the oldest such events in the U.S., having debuted way back in 1900 at the original Madison Square Garden and serving as the host site for many important automotive debuts and moments, in general, over the years.

  • The Auto Show is a shadow of its former self, but the Detroit Automakers take center stage now and have nice spacious exhibits now. So far Lincoln hasn't skipped a Detroit show, but their space was really small and modest last year. And since they losing Corsair and the brand is in limbo, I could see them staying home until they have something new to report.
