Clankers Excited By 2027 Lincoln Navigator EV: AI Slop Report

The age of artificial intelligence is upon us, and that’s not necessarily a good thing. The rise of “clankers” – a derogatory term for AI or bots in general – makes search engines prime for misinformation. Ford Authority has taken up arms against incorrect info peddled by Google’s AI overview, and the 2027 Lincoln Navigator is no exception. In fact, Google’s AI overview seems to think that the luxury SUV is getting an EV variant, no question.

What’s funny is that Google’s AI overview undermines itself right off the bat, admitting that no definitive details have been released regarding the 2027 Lincoln Navigator. It then goes on to walk back on that statement, saying, “industry analysis and past announcements suggest that 2027 will likely bring significant changes, including a fully electrified powertrain.”

That couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s no electric Lincoln Navigator in the pipeline. While that may have been a possibility three years ago as Lincoln considered going all-electric by 2027, that sentiment has since crumbled. FoMoCo CEO Jim Farley himself profusely denounced the idea.

“I think we’re starting to discover our brand location for Lincoln that makes sense,” Farley said. “The team really pushed me to have an all-electric lineup, and I refused to do it. And I’m sure glad we didn’t. I’m sure glad we didn’t.”

All that to say – there’s no 2027 Lincoln Navigator EV in the works, and there probably never will be. Google’s AI overview then goes on to say that it’s certain the 2027 Navigator will represent a generational changeover. That’s not true, either. The 2025 Navigator represented a complete redesign for the luxury SUV. If anything, the 2027 model year might bring some modest changes, but it certainly won’t bring a next-gen model to the table.

As for the real-life Navigator, the Premiere trim is making a comeback after disappearing for the 2025 model year. The addition of the entry level trim will help it become more affordable, putting its starting price within striking distance of its chief rival, the Cadillac Escalade.
