Ford F-150 Raptor R Crate Engine Just Got A Bit Cheaper

Back in April 2024, the Ford Performance catalog gained a pretty cool new offering in the form of a crate version of the supercharged 5.2.L V8 present in the Ford F-150 Raptor R, under part number M-6007-M52SCA. That particular part is listed with a pretty lofty MSRP, as one might imagine – $32,450 currently, though when it debuted last year, it was listed at $29,500. Now, oddly enough, the very same supercharged 5.2L V8 from the Ford F-150 Raptor R has been listed in the Ford Performance catalog under a different part number, and with a lower price.

That part number is M-6007-M52SCB, where the same powerplant has an MSRP of $30,000 – even though the older part number is still active in the Ford Performance catalog, interestingly. Otherwise, the descriptions for these two engines are exactly the same, so it’s very much unclear what – if any – differences there might be between the two. In both cases, output comes in at 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque – just like it did in the S550-generation Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 – when paired with the the control pack listed under part number M-6017-M52SC and premium fuel.

Notably, that horsepower figure is higher than the Ford F-150 Raptor R’s 720 rating, but torque is also a bit lower, compared to 640 pound-feet in the production pickup. The 2024 model upped the ante with a boost from 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet. According to Ford, this improvement was achieved via “reduced air inlet losses coupled with an optimized calibration that also results in a wider torque curve.”

In terms of what these Ford F-150 Raptor R crate engines come with, that list includes an Eaton TVS R2650 supercharger, an aluminum block with a 94mm bore and 93mm stroke, 9.5:1 compression, a forged steel crank and connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, exhaust manifolds, an alternator, starter, A/C compressor, 92mm throttle body, a supercharger belt, water pump, and alternator belt.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
