Ford V10-Swapped Lincoln Continental Coming Along Nicely: Video

Jack and Diego – the geniuses behind the YouTube channel Build It Yourself – have been one heck of a journey to revive a wrecked Lincoln Continental into a V10-powered monster. Against all odds, the rescued luxury sedan now runs and drives, spending some time on the dyno to find out just what kind of figures it pulls. With the mechanical pieces more or less resolved, it’s finally time to put the finishing touches on it.

Jack and Diego have a soft goal to take the Lincoln Continental to SEMA 2025 in early November, which gives them just under three months to get it wrapped up (although they don’t have an invite to the event yet, but they’re hoping something pulls through). That means putting the finishing touches together, which means 3D-printing certain parts to make it all fit together.

Video still of the V10 swapped Lincoln Continental, showing its interior. The YouTubers at Do It Yourself are well into the project.

The rear fascia comes together first, and it’s ready for paint. They also want to remake a rear wing for the tricked-out, V10-powered luxury sedan, which requires scanning the rear trunk so they can perfectly engineer the components. They design it digitally, and it arrives in pieces. Diego puts it together and fits it to the vehicle – and, surprise – it fits perfectly after some tweaks to the design.

3D-printing is a major part of this vehicle’s exterior and interior, too. They fit it with a custom digital instrument cluster and infotainment displays, overhauling the interior from top to bottom to fit the rest of the vehicle’s aesthetics.

After all the electrical work, understandably, the team is a little nervous that the Lincoln Continental won’t start. However, it turns over no problem. Strangely, it sounds slightly different to them, but they don’t think that it’s indicative of any problem. They note that some of the instruments aren’t reading correctly and will need some adjusting, but that’s simple work compared to what they’ve already done. They still find the vehicle’s V10 heart as thrilling as it was when they first fired it up.
