Just this past July, a very unique 1998 Ford Crown Victoria modified by Kenny Brown surfaced for sale at auction, but it ultimately failed to meet its reserve price with a high bid of $19,000. It’s difficult to peg the value of such a thing, given the fact that we rarely – and we mean rarely – see Kenny Brown Crown Vics anywhere these days, let alone for sale in any capacity. Thus, perhaps it comes as no surprise to see this Ford Crown Victoria back up for auction yet again, this time, with no reserve price.
This Kenny Brown 1998 Ford Crown Victoria is once again being auctioned off at Bring a Trailer, just a few weeks after we last saw it there – giving someone the chance to bring it home again. It was treated to the P2 Panther Package by Kenny Brown, which consisted of quite a few upgrades.
Some of those modifications adorn the black exterior, including a special lighting package, a front push bar, pillar-mounted spotlights, radio antennas, Kenny Brown “Hot Pursuit” branding, and dual exhaust outlets. The sedan rolls on 17″ Motiform wheels wrapped with 255/50 BFGoodrich Comp T/A tires, and the whole thing sits a bit lower thanks to its beefed up suspension, too.
Inside the cabin, one will find Light Graphite seats with power-adjustability up front, along with amenities such as cruise control, air conditioning, a Uniden BearTracker police scanner, a Cobra Sound Tracker CB radio, a Motorola CellStar phone, and a Kenny Brown Performance tag with the serial number 98-016CV.
Power comes from a replacement Ford 4.6L V8 (since the original blew up during testing conducted by Car & Driver), which in this case is fitted with an Eaton supercharger system, an upgraded intake manifold, a high-flow fuel system, and a revised engine calibration. It’s mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Now, we’re curious to see if this cool and rarely-seen performance sedan can top its previous high bid, if nothing else.
