South Africa Gets Even More Ford Tourneo Custom Variants

The Ford Transit family has been quite popular across much of the globe for decades to this point, and that’s certainly true in South Africa. There, the Transit Custom Sport just launched this past February, while the new entry-level Ford Tourneo Custom Active joined the lineup shortly thereafter, in March. Now, the South African Ford Tourneo Custom lineup is expanding yet again, this time, to include more than one new variant.

That list begins with the Ford Tourneo Custom Sport, which features many of the same exterior styling upgrades already present on the Transit Custom Sport. Those include a honeycomb-style grille, a body-color front bumper, a Sport body kit, rear spoiler, side decals, standard LED taillights, dual black and blue sport stripes, and 17-inch sport alloy wheels – or optional 19-inch units. Inside, the Tourneo Custom Sport features blue accent stripes on the seats, as well as piano black accents.

The new Sport model of the popular van is being joined by another new variant, too – the Ford Tourneo Titanium X, which is designed to be a comfy and stylish family ride. It gets its own unique front grille treatment, along with Matrix LED headlights and multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, one will find a power front passenger seat and 360-degree camera system, too.

Both the Ford Tourneo Custom Sport and Titanium X can be spec’d with the optional Mobile Office pack, which adds things like enhanced cab lighting for better visibility, laptop and tablet stowage between the seats, and an integrated trash bin, along with additional USB connections and accessory docking for a variety of equipment.

“High-series Tourneo Custom buyers are image-conscious professionals who require a vehicle that is both a practical tool and a reflection of their success. It’s also the ideal solution for executive shuttles and VIP transportation,” said Sunil Sewmohan, Executive Director of Product Marketing at Ford South Africa. “The Tourneo Custom Sport is a more dynamic performance-oriented model with a dash of athletic design flair, while the Titanium X is our premium halo product that blends sophistication and luxury.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. North America market needs this now.

  2. The Connect is a little too small and the Transit is a little too big for my wife and I with our dive gear, ski gear, grand kids, etc. The Custom has some sporting character, while the Toyota and Honda are a little too minivan-ish. Come-on Jim Farley, let’s get this winner to the US.
