2003 Ford Thunderbird 007 Edition With 25K Miles Up For Auction

Back in 2002 – when Ford owned Jaguar and Aston Martin, brands frequently featured in the James Bond movie franchise – the automaker reached an endorsement deal with Eon and MGM. With the Ford Thunderbird in the midst of making a comeback, it was the perfect time to offer a limited-edition model, based on the one driven by actress Halle Berry in the film Die Another Day. The result was the Ford Thunderbird James Bond 007 Edition, of which just 700 were built in total – and this example has just 25k miles showing on the odometer, too.

The latest of many Ford Thunderbird James Bond 007 Edition models (and last-generation T-Birds, in general) we’ve seen hit the auction block in recent months is currently listed for sale at Bring a Trailer, and it’s number 393 of 700 produced. It has a few more miles on the clock than most, but remains in great condition with the requisite Coral paint on the outside, along with a Performance White removable hardtop and a power-operated Midnight Black soft top. There are no flaws noted on that particular surface, nor the original 17-inch chrome-finished Deluxe wheels, which in this case are wrapped with Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tires.

Inside the cabin, one will find Performance White leather upholstery covering heated power-adjustable seats, coupled with special touches including “007” and “Thunderbird” badging and a numbered plaque.

Power for this limited-edition model comes from the naturally-aspirated 3.9L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 280 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission.

This just the latest of several Ford Thunderbird 007 Editions we’ve spotted at auction, and that list continues to grow with each passing week, too. Most recently, we’ve come across a couple of very low-mile examples – one with just 5k miles showing on the odometer, and another with a mere 8k miles.
