2026 Ford Bronco Sport Drops Rain-Sensing Wipers

The 2025 Ford Escape dropped its rain-sensing wipers last year - and now, its corporate cousin and platform mate, the 2026 Ford Bronco Sport, is following suit. That means rain-sensing wipers are a thing of the past for the rugged off-road crossover.

As per a report from Bronco NationThe 2026 Ford Bronco no longer offers rain-sensing wipers on any trim. For the 2025 model year, the feature was standard on the higher-tiered Outer Banks and Badlands models, but wasn't available on Big Bend, Heritage, or Free Wheeling models. That's a moot point now, though, as rain-sensing wipers have been dropped from the lineup entirely.

Instead, all 2026 Ford Bronco Sport trims feature standard wipers that must be manually turned on by the driver rather than relying on sensors to detect moisture on the windshield and activating automatically.

The rain-sensing wipers are just one of several features that have been slashed from the 2026 Ford Bronco Sport. They join the wireless charging pad, universal garage door opener, and the 12.3-inch instrument cluster display screen, which has been removed from several trims and replaced with a smaller alternative.

However, the changes to the 2026 Bronco Sport aren't all deletions. The rugged crossover gains the new Bronze Package. Taking cues from the likes of the Ford Mustang and Ford Mustang Mach-E, the new bundle includes a number of bronze-themed accents like wheels and "Bronco" grille script. The Bronco Sport also gets the new Ford Connectivity Package, which enables things like Wi-Fi hotspot functionality and voice assistant features.

Aside from that, though, the Ford Bronco Sport soldiers on largely unchanged after receiving a modest refresh for the 2025 model year. That might be the biggest change the rugged crossover is going to get before the end of the decade, as recent reports indicate that it will be redesigned after 2030. It may be on track for another refresh as soon as 2028, however.
