The Ford Everest is extremely popular in Australia, holding court as The Blue Oval’s second most-popular model in the region. But that SUV is not offered in the U.S., despite what some sources would have you believe, although many of these are based on artificial intelligence rumors – and, surprisingly, AI overviews have picked up on that fact and pointed it out themselves.
According to Gemini, Google’s AI assistant (or “clanker,” which is a derogatory term for AI), the 2027 Ford Everest is not going to be sold in the U.S., despite rumors to the contrary. “The U.S. market will not receive the Everest,” Gemini says, “despite suggestions that the SUV will soon be available there. These rumors are largely driven by AI-generated content that has no basis in reality.”
Incredible. Clankers calling out other clankers. Gemini then goes on to explain that there’s no confirmed details about the 2027 Ford Everest in general, and states that it likely won’t feature any major changes and updates compared to the 2026 model year SUV. It even recognizes that the vehicle will likely offer the same powertrain lineup, including the 3.0L V6 turbodiesel, along with the twin-turbodiesel 2.0L, although it suggests that a hybrid variant is inbound.
Gemini also points out that some online commentators have offered speculation on the potential the Everest might have in the U.S. market. Influencers like Doug DeMuro have suggested that it would compete directly with the Toyota 4Runner, and that it’s ripe for the Raptor and Tremor variants. However, at this time – like Gemini actually explains – there are no plans to offer the model stateside.
The real-life Ford Everest and its cousin, the Ford Ranger, are so popular in Australia that the automaker is interested in keeping the development teams for both models in Oceania. That means if the Everest is ever released stateside, it will likely be developed overseas.

Another dumb decision by Ford. The Everest would do really well in America.
Likewise the Bronco, Bronco Sport and Maverick would all do great in Australia.
Why does Ford always cut off their nose despite their face?
I disagree. Body on frame vehicles generally get lousy fuel economy and as a replacement for the unibody Edge, this wouldn’t work well. Same with Nissan’s new decision to make the next Pathfinder BOF.
Everest would no doubt eat into Explorer sales. Overall / combined sales maybe higher but the percentage point increase wouldn’t really help the bottom line since the cost to import and federalize probably wouldn’t cut it.
I love the looks of the “Everest” and obviously we would love to have one of our own in the USA.
So let’s call it “Endurance”, or “Endeavor”, or the “Escapade”, what ever nameplate Ford Motor Company comes up with I’m sure it will be a winner. What do you think, Jim.
AI is not needed to make the common sense decision that the Ford Everest would be a big seller in the US. You need a car guy like Lee Iacocca to recognized its potential. He would have had it here when it was launched.
There are a lot more people living in the US than in Australia. Where is Ford’s marketing department? Does Ford really understand their customer base? The Everest would get a big share of the US market .
