Ford F-150 Hybrid Owners Can Lower Their Trucks With OEM Parts

It wasn't too terribly long ago that lowered trucks largely fell out of favor, a shift that came as enthusiasts started gravitating more toward lifted, off-road-focused pickups. However, in more recent times, we're starting to see street-focused sport trucks come back into the picture, with new offerings like Ford's Lobo series and similarly lowered, fashionable options from some of its rivals. Now, those that own a Ford F-150 with the PowerBoost hybrid powertrain can snag OEM parts to lower their pickups, if they so desire.

That's because the Ford Performance catalog just added the new Ford F-150 PowerBoost rear lowering kit as its latest offering, which is listed under part numberĀ M-3000-PB4, with a retail price tag of $314. It reduces the rear ride height of that particular hybrid pickup by 1.5 inches in the rear, giving it a sportier, more level stance, too. The kit includes laser-cut steel lowering shackles with urethane bushings, with a few improvements as well.

Those improvements consist of a grease fitting that's been applied to the lower shackle tube, a bushing grease groove, and DOM center tube tolerance. The kit is compatible with 2021-2026 Ford F-150 PowerBoost pickups in Super Cab or SuperCrew configuration, and with either two- or four-wheel drive, though it won't fit the F-150 Raptor, Tremor, or Lightning - not that any of those vehicles can be pared with the PowerBoost, anyway.

For Ford F-150 PowerBoost owners that want to lift their trucks, FoMoCo also offers an off-road suspension kit developed in a partnership between Ford Performance and Bilstein. It includes the Ford Performance tuned coilover package with a full 60mm digressive piston and 2.65-inch monotube coilovers, along with remote rear reservoirs that house independent dividing pistons to separate nitrogen champers and optimize travel, lifting the front end by two inches to level out the stance.
