Ford Maverick Market Share Among Top 20 In Q2 2025

The Ford Maverick debuted for the 2022 model year to tremendous demand, which wasn’t too surprising given the fact that it’s a compact pickup with an affordable price tag, excellent fuel efficiency in hybrid form, and solid capability for its class. Even though it has gotten quite a bit pricier since then, the Ford Maverick remains incredibly popular among new vehicle shoppers, and continues to grow its market share. In fact, it ranked among the very best in that regard in Q2 2025.

According to Experian’s Q2 2025 State of the Automotive Market Finance report, the Ford Maverick accounted for 1.1 percent of the new vehicle market in the U.S. in that period of time, gaining 0.9 percent share over Q2 2024. The Ford Maverick was the automaker’s second-best selling pickup behind only the F-Series in Q2, posting a 26 percent sales increase year-over-year to 48,041 units, bringing its year-to-date tally to 86,056 – an 11 percent increase.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Ford F-150 continued to dominate this list in the second quarter of the year, as it has for some time now. It accounted for 3.0 percent of the new vehicle market in the U.S. in that period of time, gaining 0.4 percent share over Q2 2024. However, it only edged out the Toyota RAV4 by a mere 0.1 percent, as that crossover also gained the same amount of market share in the past year. From there, the F-150’s chief rival, the Chevy Silverado 1500, came in fourth place with a 2.2 percent share – losing 0.3 percent versus Q2 2024.

Additionally, the Ford Explorer also made this cut this time around, accounting for 1.3 percent of all vehicles on U.S. roads through the second quarter of the year, up slightly from 1.2 percent in Q2 2024. Notably, the Explorer is the only three-row SUV on this top 20 list, which covers all makes and models, meaning that it also has the highest segment share of that group, too.
