Deliveries of the all-new 2025 Ford Mustang GTD just began in late June, shortly after the most track-capable pony car ever became one of very few road-going production cars to lap Germany’s Nurburgring in less than seven minutes. Since then, we've seen a few notable names take delivery of their brand new Mustang GTD, including comedian and mega car collector Jay Leno, who was joined by Ford CEO Jim Farley for that special occasion. Turns out, there's another special feature under the hood of Leno's GTD.
In a recent appearance on the Spike's Car Radio podcast, Leno revealed that the entire Ford Mustang GTD team signed an air intake in the engine bay of his car, which is a nifty touch. He even showed off those signatures in this video, and there are quite a few of them - though he notes that Multimatic team that transforms regular body-in-white Mustangs into GTDs is a pretty small outfit, by comparison to something like The Blue Oval, at least.
While many Ford Mustang GTD models will likely be stored away in some climate controlled garage, Leno is already busy driving his - even attending a local car meet in California not too long ago. The comedian spec'd his out to be a proper driver’s car, as he opted for the Performance Pack and its many aero upgrades and other focused goodies. His GTD bears serial number 12 - just like his pair of Ford GTs, too. Interestingly, even with its more hardcore spec, Leno noted after slipping behind the wheel of his latest acquisition that it’s “way more civilized than I thought it would be.”
As Ford Authority exclusively reported last month, Ford Mustang GTD production may have gotten off to a slow start thus far, but it's set to ramp up significantly very soon. Given the model's popularity, Ford may also opt to extend its production run past the currently-planned 1,700 units, too.

It resembles a Porsche GT3 Turbo too much.
