Ford Windsor Engine Family

The Ford Windsor small block engine family is the predecessor to the automaker’s Modular engine family. Windsor engines were produced from 1962 through 2001 in various vehicles manufactured by Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury.

The Windsor small block evolved through the years, starting out as a “260” and ending as a “351”. To clarify, the engine names were derived from their displacements measured in cubic centimeters. Although the engine is no longer used in any production models, Ford Performance still offers small block crate engine options under the 351 moniker.
