Too many times there is a good montage of an automaker’s new car posted to their official YouTube page with cheesy music laid on top of what we all really want to hear – the exhaust note. That’s not the case with Ford Performance’s latest upload, though, which simply contains raw footage of the Chip Ganassi Racing team working on the car and its new driver lineup putting it through its paces on the track.
So far this year, we’ve seen plenty of footage of the GT testing ahead of its competition debut in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in 2016. But this video is by far our favorite due to its simplicity and as we previously mentioned, because it lets us hear the exhaust note of the GT’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
We’re taking this as Ford Performance’s farewell to 2015 and its New Years gift to us race fans for 2016. It won’t be long before the GT takes to the track at the annual Roar Before the 24 at Daytona, but in the meantime, you can see the all-new racer in action in the video above.
