Ford Motor Company is recalling certain units of the Ford Fusion to replace the second-row left-rear seat back frame, which may have been built with improperly welded pivot pins.
The defect: in the affected vehicles, seat backs with pivot pins that were improperly welded may not adequately retain cargo in a crash.
The hazards: improperly-welded pivot pins that may not adequately retain cargo in a crash increase the risk of injury.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
Affected vehicles: 2017 Ford Fusion built at Hermosillo Assembly Plant between September 27, 2016 and September 28, 2016.
