Europe, like the United States, is getting an updated Ford Mustang pony car for the 2018 model year. Like the US-spec Mustang, the European one should make use of Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission (or the familiar 6-speed manual), and on GT models, the new, dual-injected 5.0-liter Coyote.
Beside that, there’s the styling, which appears to be more-or-less identical to that of the 2018 Ford Mustang for the American market. Spy photographers captured a new, revised example for the European market driving on American roads recently, and if there are any major differences with the US version, we can’t work out what they are.
The photographs can be found over at Motor1.com.
Giveaways that this is a European-spec model we see here include the transparent taillight lenses, and encircled pony badge on the rear decklid. The indicators that it is a 2018 model are all quite obvious: new upper and lower grilles with reshaped side inlets, a lower, sleeker hood terminating in a more pointed nose, and redesigned taillights.
The refreshed, 2018 Ford Mustang is expected to go on sale starting this fall in the US, and should reach Europe early next year.
