Clive Sutton has been offering tuning packages for various American vehicles in the U.K. for a quarter-century. The Ford Mustang is one of them, of course, and the tuner sells four different distinct packages for The Blue Oval’s pony car. The king of that proverbial hill is the Ford Mustang CS800, which produces a significant 825 horsepower. And now, Clive Sutton has a nice used example for sale on its site.
This particular Ford Mustang CS800 is a 2017 model, finished in Magnetic Gray with a black interior. It’s a one-owner car with just 3,500 miles on the clock, which makes it essentially good as new. The listing states that this particular CS800 is fitted with most every optional available, and the asking price is £67,000, or around $87,000.
The CS800 package, car included, starts out at £66,942 ($86,875) and tops out at £101,735 ($132,000) with all the options, so that’s likely not a bad deal at all, relatively speaking.
Still, it’s a lot of coin for a used S550 Mustang, but this isn’t just some average Mustang. Instead, it’s fitted with a Whipple Stage 2 supercharger that helps its 5.0L Coyote V8 produce 825 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque. Additional modifications under the hood include a larger throttle body and high flow injectors.
That adds up to some serious performance, as Clive Sutton says the CS800 will do 0-62 miles-per-hour in 3.8 seconds and top out at 195 miles-per-hour. Additionally, it’s equipped with KW coilovers that help keep it more planted in the turns, while a sport exhaust gives it some serious sound.
The Ford Mustang CS800 is available with either an MT82 six-speed manual transmission or Ford’s 10-speed automatic. This particular example is fitted with the former, which makes it a bit more fun to drive, albeit a little slower in the acceleration department.
At the end of the day, we doubt the new owner of this machine will care. They’ll be too busy stomping on the loud pedal and enjoying all those raging ponies, after all.
