Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2024 Ford Mustang models over an issue with the rear suspension knuckle.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the rear suspension knuckle may have a casting defect that causes it to fail, which can result in a loss of vehicle handling and steering control.
The hazards: a loss of vehicle handling and steering control increases the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.

Affected vehicles: select 2024 Ford Mustang models produced at the Flat Rock Assembly plant between July 25th, 2023, and September 15th, 2023.
Number of affected vehicles: 4,595
The fix: dealers will inspect and replace the rear suspension knuckle as necessary, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on August 26th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S49.
