The return of the Ford Bronco in the 2021 model year was big news for fans of the iconic SUV, which has long been praised for its supreme off-road capability. In fact, a Ford Bronco won the Baja 1000 back in 1969, and to this day, remains the only stock four-wheel drive vehicle to do so. The Blue Oval has continued that tradition with the newer sixth-generation model, entering it in all sorts of off-road races across the globe in recent years, and that resulted in a solid finish at the recent 2024 Ultra4 USA event, too.
In fact, during the Ultra4 USA Warn Racing Nationals, John Rants took home a win in the 4600 Class behind the wheel of his Ford Bronco racer, which was the very first such victory of his career. On top of all that, Bailey Cole capped off his standout season in the same series by securing the 4600 Championship for 2024, and fellow Ford Bronco driver John Williams III finished right behind him in second place.
The Ford Bronco is no stranger to success in the Ultra4 4600 Class either, even recording an undefeated season in 2022 with drivers Brad Lovell, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Bailey Cole piloting three different racers. On top of that, the 2024 Rebelle Rally – which just took place last week – resulted in a second-place finish in the X-Cross class for the Ford Performance team, coupled with second, fourth, fifth, and seventh-place finishes in the 4×4 class for the Bronco and Bronco Raptor piloted by multiple all-female teams.
It's unclear if the new model will revive that nameplate, however.
