Those in the market for a nice Ford Explorer from the 1990s have had quite a few to choose from lately, as many well-kept, low-mile examples of that SUV continue to pop up for sale at various collector car auction sites. While these early Explorer sightings may or may not be an indication that values are set to skyrocket, they’re notable, nonetheless – especially for those that have been looking for such a thing. Now, those same folks can now bid on this rather nice 1994 Ford Explorer Limited, too.
This 1994 Ford Explorer Limited has just 51k miles showing on the odometer, and is up for grabs over at Bring a Trailer. It spent a whopping 31 years in Oregon with one owner before the SUV was acquired by the selling dealer this year, and it certainly looks like that person took great care of it. The vintage Ford Explorer sports seemingly perfect Dark Tourmaline Metallic paint, in fact, along with features such as running boards, a roof rack, fog lights, and 15-inch split-spoke alloy wheels on the outside.
Inside, this Explorer is equipped with power-adjustable front bucket seats upholstered in Opal Gray leather with blue piping and “Limited” embroidery, coupled with amenities including cruise control, power windows and locks, a cassette stereo, and air conditioning. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.0L V6, which in this guise was factory-rated to send 160 horsepower to the rear or all four wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
This is just the latest Ford Explorer from the ’90s that we’ve seen surface for sale recently – a list that includes many from the 1994 model year alone. Of that group, we’ve seen an XLT with 51k miles and a couple of mods pop up at auction, along with another (this time, bone stock) ’94 XLT with 58k miles, plus a two-door Sport with 65k miles.
