2020 Ford GT With Lamborghini Paint Job Up For Auction

On some of its more exotic offerings, Ford has offered customers unique paint options, or even the option to buy a vehicle unfinished – which, in most cases, are pricey to procure. Then there are vehicles that one can choose to paint whatever color they please, a list that included the now-defunct Ford GT and, currently, the Ford Mustang GTD, the latter of which even has its own “Exclusive Extended Color Palette Lock-Out Option,” which actually guarantees that no other owner can pick that same color. As for this 2020 Ford GT, the original owner opted to paint it in a truly unique hue, too.

That paint color is dubbed Blu Cepheus, which just so happens to be a color that’s been offered on a wide variety of Lamborghini models over the years – including the Huracan, Aventador, Centenario, and Murcialago. It cost a whopping $30k to apply it to this 2020 Ford GT, which is now being auctioned off at Bring a Trailercomplete with Shadow Black over-the-top stripes as a complement to the bright blue hue. The seller also applied paint protection film to the sports car, which is understandable given the high cost of that paint job, which was part of the automaker’s Extended Color Pallette 2 choices.

That color is accented by a set of gloss black 20-inch wheels covering orange-painted Brembo calipers, providing a bit of contrast to the sea of blue. Inside, one will find black leather Sparco seats with carbon-fiber shells, along with the optional Dark Energy package, explored carbon fiber on the door panels, an adjustable pedal box and steering column, automatic climate control, six-point harness anchors, and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Power comes from an enhanced version of the twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, in this case rated to produce 660 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque, and it’s mated to the Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle. With just 2,600 miles on the clock and a unique color to offer – coupled with the fact that these cars go for big money these days – we don’t doubt that this Ford GT will conjure up plenty of interest at auction in the coming days.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
