1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor 25th Anniversary Tribute Coupes Are On The Way

Back in late 2022, a court ruled in favor of the Shelby Trust against Eleanor Licensing LLC after the latter had insisted that others couldn’t replicate the movie-famous Ford Mustang Eleanor from the Gone in 60 Seconds movies. Then, just last month, the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that Ford Mustang Eleanor movie cars aren’t eligible for copyright protection, either. Thus, we’re sure to see plenty of new replicas of that movie-famous pony car emerge, and that includes the just-unveiled 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor 25th Anniversary Tribute from a company called Classic Muscle Recreations LLC.

The new Ford Mustang Eleanor is said to be the “ultimate” version of that particular model, and comes as the film celebrates 25 years, to boot. Just 25 examples will be built in total, all by the same exact team that produced the movie cars back in 2000. As such, these anniversary models will be faithful in terms of appearances to the originals, though they will feature some updates in terms of amenities and mechanicals.

With each of these cars being built to order, customers have a lot of options to choose from. In terms of powerplants, those choices consist of the 5.0L V8 Coyote, a supercharged Aluminator V8, or a Roush 427 V8, mated to a five- or six speed Tremec gearbox, or the 10-speed Ford automatic. Standard brakes consist of Wilwood units with four-piston calipers, while one can also upgrade to six-piston units, and either a single- or double-adjustable four-link suspension can be had, too.

From there, one can choose from all kinds of wheel options and interior seating materials, as well as a roll bar or premium audio system. The anniversary Ford Mustang Eleanor starts out at a cool $500k without any of these upgrades. “Our goal with the ‘Eleanor: Gone Again‘ project is to build on the legacy of what we started 25 years ago, and to produce the ultimate version of Eleanor, following the original movie car concept but built to the highest standards, for customers who want to own a piece of history,” said Ray Claridge, founder and former owner of Cinema Vehicle Services, which produced the original Eleanor movie cars for the film.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
