1986 Lincoln Town Car ‘Wide Body’ Limousine Heading To Auction

While the Lincoln Town Car has been steadily growing in terms of popularity as of late, we’re also seeing our fair share of elongated limousine versions of that luxurious sedan pop up at collector car auctions, too. This makes perfect sense given the fact that the Town Car was a rather popular limo conversion during its heyday, serving up classic style with comfy insides and a cushy ride. Now, another Lincoln Town Car is on its way to the auction block, this time, a 1986 model with some unique bodywork.

This 1986 Lincoln Town Car limo is set to be auctioned off at Mecum’s upcoming Harrisburg, Pennsylvania sale next week, giving someone else the chance to own it after the model has lived its entire life with just one family thus far. What makes it extra unique, however, is that it features a “wide body” limo conversion that was completed by Corporate Coachworks back in 1986, which is a treatment that we certainly don’t see very often – if ever.

Along with that widened and elongated bodywork, this Lincoln Town Car limo features a plush interior with seating for six in the rear, along with adjustable partitions, accessory lighting, coded entry for the driver’s cabin, a closed-loop phone system, a cell phone receptacle, a speaker and microphone system, a center table with an ice bin, a bar area, three cooler compartments, and loads of other cool features.

This Lincoln Town Car limo was originally purchased by a housing developer located in New Jersey, who got it for his parents to use privately, interestingly enough. It has been in storage since 1993, however, but it looks to be in great shape and is accompanied by loads of documentation.

Regardless, it’s also one of many Lincoln Town Car limos we’ve seen surface for sale lately – though likely the most unique – a list that includes a 1999 model with 56k miles, as well as a ’67 once used to transport executives for beer maker Anheuser-Busch.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
