Lifted 2008 Ford Ranger Sport With 20K Miles Up For Auction

The Ford Ranger was discontinued in the U.S. more than a decade ago, only to return to those same shores for the 2019 model year – albeit, as a larger, mid-size pickup, not the compact one that it used to be. In recent months, those last-gen compact Ford Ranger models have become increasingly common finds on collector car auction sites, with nice, low-mile examples seemingly coming out of the proverbial woodwork. Now, that list has expanded yet again, this time, to include a very nice yet modified 2008 Ford Ranger Sport.

This 2008 Ford Ranger Sport is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 20k miles on the clock, but it isn’t exactly some stock collector’s item. Rather, this compact pickup has been modified with the addition of goodies including a Wulf suspension kit that adds an additional 2.25 inches of height up front, as well as three inches in the rear – making room for a set of 20-inch Fittipaldi wheels wrapped with 295/45 Toyo Proxes tires – though the original rolling stock is included with the sale.

Those modifications continued underneath, where the original Ford 3.0L V6 Vulcan engine is fitted with JBA shorty headers and an MBRP exhaust system. The seller has done quite a bit of maintenance work otherwise, which includes replacing the spark plug wires, spark plugs, serpentine belt, belt tensioner, idler pulley, fuel filter, air filter, and engine oil.

Otherwise, this Ford Ranger is basically stock with a clean cloth interior and nice Torch Red paint, though it did get a new rear bumper and receiver hitch after suffering a fender bender in 2023.

Along with this modified 2008 Ford Ranger Sport, we’ve seen our fair share of older versions of that model surface for sale as of late. That list includes a pair of 2009 models this year alone – one a 44k-mile XLT, and the other a 22k-mile XL.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
