The Lincoln Mark VIII has been absent from the automotive world for quite some time at this point, having been nixed following the 1998 model year. During its time on earth, the Mark series offered customers a stylish, luxurious, and comfortable mode of transportation, and as such, it's quickly becoming a sought-after collectible, too. That certainly pertains to this 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII, which has been driven a mere 28k miles since it was sold new decades ago.
Now, this 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII is up for auction at Bring a Trailer, giving someone the chance to bring home a stellar example of the luxurious coupe. It actually began life as a corporate fleet vehicle, after which it spent many years with a single family. Now, it remains in great condition, as its Bright Toreador Red Metallic paint has just a few blemishes and a single ding in the right rear quarter panel to note - though both the front and rear bumper covers have been refinished.
Inside, one will find Light Graphite leather upholstered power-adjustable front seats and a rear bench seat, along with amenities including automatic climate control, cruise control, a trip computer, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with JBL audio, plus power windows and door locks.
Under the hood of this Mark VII lies the naturally-aspirated 4.6L Ford V8, factory-rated to produce 280 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque, and it's mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The seller has done quite a bit of work to the car, refinishing the undercarriage, servicing the rear air springs, replacing the front air struts, changing the front upper and lower control arms, and installing a pair of replacement anti-roll bar end links.
Now, this Lincoln Mark VII is looking for a new home, but it certainly isn't alone in that regard. In fact, we've seen quite a few of these vehicles hit the collector car auction circuit recently, including a 1994 model with 8k miles, as well as a 1998 with just under 400 miles.
