The Ford Mustang based Shelby American Super Snake has been around for multiple pony car generations to this point, and that continued to be the case with the new-for-2024 S650 model, too. In fact, Shelby American just unveiled the all-new 2026 Super Snake-R earlier this month, which couples wide bodywork with a fully adjustable coilover suspension, loads of carbon fiber and aluminum, and a supercharger that lifts output to 850 horsepower, though it also starts out at a hefty $224,995. However, this 2025 Shelby Super Snake may soon trade hands for a bit less than that.
The S650-based Shelby Super Snake debuted back in April 2024, and it’s a thoroughly upgraded version of the newest pony car, too. This example is set to cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming Scottsdale Fall auction in October, and it’s number 57 of 300 produced for the U.S. in total – at least, for the 2025 model year. It’s finished in Shadow Black paint with Satin Black vinyl stripes, and rolls on a set of 20-inch forged magnesium wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.
As is the case with all current Shelby Super Snake models, this one sports an aluminum hood with pin locks, along with a bevy of carbon fiber goodies – consisting of the hood extractors, vented widebody front fenders, splitter wickers, rocker wickers, the lower diffuser, and rear wing. Those elements are joined by a unique front fascial, grilles, and a rear ducktail spoiler, to name just a few.
Inside the cabin, one will find embroidered floor mats and Super Snake door sill plates, all nestled in an upgraded interior setting. As for power, it comes from a supercharged version of the Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, churning out 830 horsepower, mated to the 10-speed automatic gearbox. The suspension has received a full-blown Shelby upgrade, and braking duties are handled by Brembo discs.
According to B-J, this Shelby Super Snake is a brand new build that was never delivered to an actual customer, so it’s about as close as one can come to ordering one from Shelby American itself – and there are just 13 miles showing on the clock, to boot.
