2026 Ford Bronco Grab Handles Not Compatible With Older Models

The 2026 Ford Bronco 60th Anniversary Package just debuted last week, bringing with it a host of unique and special features for the sixth-generation SUV. Most of those features are intended to celebrate 60 years since the first Bronco arrived, but there are some other interesting additions as well. One of those features is a new set of A-pillar mounted grab handles, which are included as standard with the package and are also available as an option across the rest of the lineup. However, it doesn’t seem as if this new part can be retrofitted to older Ford Bronco models.

According to Bronco Nation, the new A-pillar mounted grab handles present across the 2026 Ford Bronco lineup cannot be used in 2021-2025 models, due to the fact that “the new handle uses structure uniquely for it.” Regardless, for those that are looking to purchase a new, 2026 Ford Bronco, this addition is likely good news, given the fact that a lot of consumers have apparently been asking for it, since it helps make getting in and out of the SUV a bit easier for some.

In addition to the new A-pillar mounted grab handles, the 2026 Ford Bronco 60th Anniversary Package also gets a set of standard wheelbase-length running boards, 17-inch Gravity Gray alloy wheels, an array of Vermillion Red accents, retro styling elements, and can be had in Wimbledon White or Ruby Red. Either way, the special model also comes with a hard-center rear tire cover painted in Wimbledon White with a Vermillion Red Bronco logo. The anniversary Ford Bronco SUV is based on the Outer Banks trim with the Sasquatch Package as standard, and can be spec’d with either the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine or the optional twin turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost.

Other than these changes, the 2026 Ford Bronco seems likely to soldier on without too many updates. The sixth-generation model hasn’t been treated to a mid-cycle refresh yet, meaning that we’ll have to wait until the 2027 model year or perhaps even later to see more significant changes take place.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. The aftermarket will take care of this quickly. I’m sure there was a lot to a potential retrofit with the airbag and structure in that area.
