2026 Ford Maverick Lineup Ditches Black Ford Ovals

Hot off a refresh for the 2025 model year, the 2026 Ford Maverick features a handful of modest changes and updates – like bringing back front-wheel-drive in conjunction with the turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost I4 engine. Beyond that, visually, the compact pickup sees a subtle but notable change: black Ford ovals are no longer available as a factory option.

According to sources familiar with the matter, black Ford ovals are no longer available on the 2026 Ford Maverick as a factory installed choice. Previously, blacked-out ovals were included as part of the Black Appearance Package for the 2025 Maverick XLT and Lariat trims; they were also standard on the 2025 Maverick Lobo and Tremor trims.

Now, blue Ford ovals are standard on all 2026 Ford Maverick trims, including XL, XLT, Lobo, Lariat, and Tremor. Opting for the Black Appearance Package does not change that, either.

That doesn’t mean that buyers of the 2026 Ford Maverick can’t acquire blacked-out ovals, though. Ford Performance offers a separate Smoked Chrome Ford oval set specifically designed for Maverick models lacking a front camera. This kit is not offered as a factory option, however.

Beyond the deletion of black Ford ovals, the 2026 Ford Maverick is gaining two new exterior color options known as Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat and Marsh Gray. Meanwhile, every trim in the lineup receives a complimentary one-year subscription for the Ford Connectivity Package, although buyers can select a seven-year subscription, too.

Additionally, the 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat and Tremor no longer feature the power-sliding rear window as standard equipment -but it can still be had as an optional extra. That cuts the starting price of the Lariat hybrid now starts to $38,090, not including destination freight charges, while the Tremor costs $40,645. The Lariat EcoBoost gets an even larger $920 price cut, bringing its starting price down to $35,870. Otherwise, the power-sliding rear window is now available as a late availability option on the XLT and Lobo 402A, and a conventional spare tire is being offered as a standalone option.

To help meet demand, Ford is boosting production capacity for popular configurations, including XL, Hybrid, and Lariat in all-wheel-drive (AWD) guise.
