Ford Authority has taken up the challenge of shooting down ridiculous AI generated slop, hoping to protect Blue Oval fans from often predatory rumors about nonexistent Ford products. We recently dished out a dose of reality regarding the supposed 2025 Ford Ranchero, which isn’t real at all – but when we searched up news on the 2027 Ford Ranchero, we were pleasantly surprised to find that Google’s AI overview actually has it right.
Here’s the thing: the 2027 Ford Ranchero might actually be a thing. The Blue Oval itself recently announced that it has an all-electric pickup waiting in the wings. Said electric pickup will be much smaller than the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning, and will be closer in size to the compact Ford Maverick, not the midsize Ford Ranger. A pickup that size would lend itself to the Ranchero name perfectly.
Google’s AI overview correctly identifies the 2027 Ford Ranchero as a possibility. “Reports suggest Ford may be releasing a new electric midsize pickup truck in 2027, possibly reviving the Ranchero nameplate,” it reads, and goes on to say that the forthcoming model will be all-electric, supported by Ford’s universal EV production system, which was just announced.
Though not officially announced quite yet, the 2027 Ford Ranchero seems inevitable. The Blue Oval filed to trademark the Ranchero nameplate not too long ago, signaling that it at least has a passing interest in reviving the name. That particular filing specifically called out “Automobiles; Motors, electric, for land vehicles,” basically confirming that when it does return, it’ll be in EV form. That was just one of several nameplates recently trademarked for forthcoming EV models.
Whatever it ends up being named, the forthcoming EV pickup is being developed with affordability in mind, and will be priced at around $30,000. It’ll also have a zero to 60 mph time on par with the Ford Mustang EcoBoost, so it will appeal to buyers in the market for a relatively inexpensive, but peppy, vehicle.

Take your Ranchero out on the ranchero and get stranded with no juice. Sounds like Ford to me.
The original El Ranchero, like the El Camino was based on a car. If they don´t do the same with this El Ranchero, then is senseless. If they are going to produce another normal pick-up just a little smaller than the Maverick, then it has no sense to use the name. Like the abominable Mach-e or the new Capri, it has no sense to take a vintage car name to produce something that car never was.
Since Ford really doesn’t have any cars (except the Mustang) that doesn’t makes sense. But it will be built on a new chassis that no other vehicle uses, so it being based off a car doesn’t matter!
The first nonsense is precisely that Ford has no cars. Not everybody like SUV´s or crossovers or is willing to buy one no matter what. I myself after 30 years buying from Ford, I switched to other brands lloking for a sedan since I´m not willing to owe or drive a SUV, a crossover or a vehicle called Ranchero (or El Camino) not based on a car.
The original El Ranchero? You’re thinking of a Mexican restaurant. This one’s a car, or truck, the Ford Ranchero.
Inexpensive is a lie and 30k price is a lie and with no range this thing will be a turd and be a flop
A two seat small pick up based on the Mach e !
rancher e
The new assembly process at the plant is a bigger news than the name of the new vehicle or SUV/car based.
