YouTube personality Emilia Hartford has a penchant for Blue Oval vehicles. One of her most recent projects is an insane Ford Mustang pulling 2,000 horsepower from its supercharged powerhouse – and now, she’s brought in a brand-new vehicle for her growing collection: a peppy 2017 Ford Focus RS.
Hartford scored the 2017 Ford Focus RS at auction. Right away, she says she’s thrilled with its factory turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost I4 producing 350 horsepower and its coat of Stealth Gray paint. But there’s something else that makes this hatchback special: it’s a Mountune RS, featuring an ECM flash that coaxes 400 horsepower out of that already bit-chomping engine. It also has a modded exhaust – and all things considered, it’s an incredible buy, especially since she purchased it sight unseen.
“I don’t know a ton about this car,” she says. “We’re discovering it together.”
One downside is that this 2017 Ford Focus RS has a salvage title, which isn’t ideal, but Hartford isn’t deterred. She admits that she’s not going to keep it, but she’s going to give it to her team member, Gio, to replace his crashed Mustang EcoBoost. She’s going to surprise him with the vehicle after spending the day on a rented rallycross racetrack. They have a blast ripping it around the track, throwing a rooster tail of dirt, and then it’s time to hand it off to Gio.
Hartford decides to play it off by asking Gio to deliver the 2017 Ford Focus RS as a surprise for one of her friends – and then, she shows him his own address. It didn’t take Gio long to fall in love with the hot hatch, and Hartford says he’s more than deserving of the go-fast rally-ready racer.
Though Gio already knocked the splitter off the vehicle by sending it a little too hard, he says he’s going to take better care of it than he did in his inaugural drive.
