Production of the Ford Focus is currently slated to end at the Saarlouis Assembly plant in Germany this coming November, even though the automaker will continue to utilize that plant with a vastly reduced workforce. Despite this, the Ford Focus remains a popular entity in Europe and the UK, and that’s particularly true in the used vehicle market. In fact, the Ford Focus ranked among the top 10 most popular used vehicles in the UK last year, and that success has continued well into 2025, too.
According to new data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Ford Focus was the fourth best-selling used vehicle in the UK in the second quarter of the year, racking up 55,333 registrations. That ranks it behind only the long-time list-topping Ford Fiesta, which dominated the rankings yet again with 76,486 sales, followed by the Vauxhall Corsa and Volkswagen Golf.
As for the overall used car market in the UK, it grew by 1.7 percent in Q2 2025, totaling 1,996,116 units. That was its best Q2 performance since 2021, as well as the tenth consecutive quarter of growth, driven by ongoing recovery in the new vehicle market. Across the first half of 2025, UK used car shoppers scooped up 4,017,106 pre-owned vehicles, a 2.2 percent increase versus last year.
“Surpassing the four million half-year milestone for the first time since 2019 shows the UK’s used car market is building back momentum,” said SMMT Chief Executive Mike Hawes. “That’s good news for the industry and for motorists who benefit from more choice and affordability across a range of higher tech, cleaner vehicles, notably in the emerging electric vehicle sector. To maintain this trajectory, a thriving new car market must be delivered across the segments, along with accelerated investment into the charging network to give every driver the ability to switch.”
Jeep is opting to keep its V8-powered SUV, after all.
Sales increased 18 percent to 28,230 units during the first seven months of 2025.
Looked pretty damn authentic upon first glance.
