Drift legend Vaughn Gittin Jr. just scored the keys to the Ford Mustang GTD. This track-bred, street-legal monster has been the star of his YouTube channel lately, with Gittin walking fans through the ordering process. Now, he’s officially taken delivery of the track-ready pony.
The Ford Mustang GTD arrives, and Gittin’s team wastes no time in unloading it from the transporter. Gittin didn’t want to watch it being taken off the transporter – he wanted to wait until it was parked in his shop among the rest of his collection. He’s practically speechless when he takes a first look at it, and his first comment is, “It’s definitely the right color!”
“I also want to say, very big ‘pinch me’ moment for me to even be able to say this is my car,” Gittin says. “I realize I have a lot of really cool cars that have some value, but where I come from, this was not in the purview 20 years ago.”
Gittin then walks viewers through what his Mustang GTD was optioned with. He mentions that it’s kitted out with the Performance Pack, which also bolstered the Mustang GTD that lapped the Nürburgring in under seven minutes. (He also mentions that he also thinks Ford CEO Jim Farley fully intends to bring the pony back to the ‘Ring.) That package includes aerodynamic elements that help it slice through the air, making it one of the meanest vehicles in his collection.
Since Gittin is famous for his Mustang builds, he addresses the elephant in the room: why buy the Ford Mustang GTD rather than throw together another RTR beast? “Ford built this car,” he says. “The budget to build something like this… could we [RTR] afford to build something like this? Probably not.”
He says it’s the most technologically advanced Mustang he’s probably ever going to lay hands on in his lifetime, and that alone makes it worth it to own.
Gittin is one of many Ford Mustang GTD owners who have already accepted the keys to their hot-to-trot pony car. Deliveries began in late June, and Farley himself personally delivered one to Jay Leno not too long ago.

Vaughn says, “It’s definitely the right color!”
I am not sure of that color for the type of car. I had ordered and took delivery of a 2021 Mustang Mach 1. There were 3 choices of colors and I went with the Grabber Yellow.
It really stands out on the road and in a crowd.
A friend of mine when he saw the color said, "God forbid that someone ever runs into you, and then has the nerve to say that he did not see you".
And, yes it does really stand out on the road and many other cars come by and stare and give a thumbs up, even people with a non-Ford car.
FYI, my first Mustang was a 1971 Grabber Green Metallic. Another stand out color.
This car looks like it's finished in primer with clear coat over it. What an ugly and boring color for a sports car!
Vaughn is so happy he took it in shorts with his new ride.
