In recent months, we’ve watched as interest in Ford trucks from the 1990s have risen steadily, along with values. That includes the Ford F-150 of this era, which is a bit simpler than today’s complex and luxurious pickups, factors that most certainly play a role in that popularity, along with the fact that they’re also quite a bit more affordable – even nice ones with fewer miles on the clock. Now, this 1998 Ford F-150 NASCAR Edition model is heading to auction, giving fans something unique and interesting to bid on.

This 1998 Ford F-150 NASCAR Edition pickup is scheduled to cross the block at Mecum’s 2025 Indy Fall Special sale next month, and it’s a pretty special machine for more than one reason. It’s one of just 3,000 examples produced, all paying homage to that form of motorsports, and this one might also be the least-used one in existence, as it has just 825 miles showing on the odometer – and it has only lived with one owner thus far.

As one might expect given that information, this Ford F-150 NASCAR Edition model remains in stellar condition as a result. The black paint looks to be essentially flawless, and there are quite a few cool details present. Those include special NASCAR Edition graphics, unique 16-inch wheels that mimic the racing version’s, plus color-keyed side mirrors and a front bumper.

Inside, one will find NASCAR Edition embroidery, plus amenities including a tilt steering wheel, air conditioning, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system. The truck comes with its original window sticker and interior plastic, to boot. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8 engine, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a rear end with 3.73 gears.

This Ford F-150 NASCAR Edition is just the latest of many well-kept models from this era that we’ve come across in recent months, and that list continues to grow. Most recently, we stumbled across a supremely nice, 27k-mile 2000 Ford F-150 Flareside, as well as a 1997 XLT with 37k miles, a 2001 XLT with 40k miles, a 2001 XL with 43k miles, and a 1999 Lariat with 45k miles.
