They may not be what most would consider to be vintage, rare, or collectible vehicles at the moment, but Ford F-150 pickups from the late 1990s and early 2000s have grown sharply in terms of collector interest as of late, which could be partly spurred by their lack of over-the-top tech and inherent simplicity compared to newer models. Whatever the reason, Ford F-150 pickups from this era are also still quite bit cheaper to purchase than new examples, which doesn’t hurt, either. Now, those that have been eyeballing a Ford F-150 from this particular era have another nice one to bid on.
This 2002 Ford F-150 SuperCab XLT is up for grabs at Bring a Trailer right now with 65k miles on the clock, which is certainly a low figure for a vehicle that’s more than two decades old at this point. It remained with the original owner until the seller purchased it earlier this year, and as such, it remains in stellar condition as well, with nice Toreador Red Metallic paint and features including a body-color bed cap, a receiver hitch, a drop-in bedliner, and tubular side steps.
Inside, one will find an equally clean Dark Graphite cloth interior with amenities such as air conditioning, a CD stereo, and power windows and locks. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 5.4L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 260 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, and it’s mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving either the rear or all four wheels.
This particular Ford F-150 rolls on a set of 17-inch wheels wrapped with Mastercraft Courser tires. It’s equipped with the optional FX4 package, which adds goodies like Rancho heavy-duty shocks and skid plates, while braking is handled by power-assisted front disc and rear anti-lock drum brakes.
In addition to this very nice Ford F-150, we also spotted a 2002 model back in June with a mere 8k miles on the clock, as well as a 1997 F-150 XLT with 37k miles, and a 2001 XL model with 43k miles prior to that.

Back when Ford didn’t make complete garbage.
I dont know, it may only have another 50k too 100k miles left on it, it is a 5.4, the 4.6 will last well up too 300k miles 😂😂
I just bought a 2001 XLT 2 wheel drive with 60,000 miles on it. 4.2 v6 and 5 SPD stick. I should be able to get at least another 100,000 out of it. 2000 this past long weekend delivering a motorcycle to my daughter.
I sold my 2008 Lincoln mark Ii pick up with a 5.4 engine. I had almost 190,000 miles. Sorriest mistake I’ve made during 84 years of life. It was not pristine, but near perfect. I miss it, wish my mother had given birth to a child with I.Q.
I guess I have the cheapskate option, I bought a 2 wheel drive 2002 F150 XLT with 112,000 miles for $3000 in 2020. Apart from a torn leather driver’s seat it’s a good solid occasional driver. Since the 5.4 gets lousy mileage I drive our car whenever possible and reserve the truck for truck stuff
