2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT With 25K Miles Up For Auction

Among the many unique and quirky models that have existed in the history of the automobile, the Ford Explorer Sport Trac certainly ranks right up there as one of the coolest. Though the SUV/pickup mashup was discontinued a long time ago, there are plenty of folks that remain fans of it today, and we’re starting to see more and more nice examples surface for sale as a result. The latest is this – a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT, which just hit the auction block.

This 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer with just 25k miles on the clock, and it lived its entire life with the original owner until the seller acquired it this past March. That person clearly took great care of this pickup, because its exterior is seemingly flawless, with perfect Vapor Silver Metallic paint joined by features including a power sunroof, a roof rack, a folding tonneau cover, and power-adjustable heated mirrors, plus 17-inch aluminum wheels wrapped with 245/65 Goodyear Fortera tires.

Inside, that’s also true, as the Medium Light Stone cloth covered seats look to be in great condition, which is true of the surrounding plastics as well. There are amenities such as air conditioning, cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, and the factory AM/FM stereo with an in-dash six-disc CD changer, plus power windows and door locks, too.

Power for this Sport Trac comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, originally rated to produce 292 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, driving either the rear or all four wheels.

This is one of a few nice, lower-mile Ford Explorer Sport Trac models we’ve seen hit the auction block recently, and we wouldn’t doubt if there are many more set to join them in the coming months. Recently, that list has included a 2008 model with 9k miles, as well as a 2010 with 38k miles.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. I bought a new 2003 Ford Explorer XLT Premium that had everything but a sunroof. My wife and I both loved the truck and I kept it 19 years and 140K miles. The only bad thing about it was the gas mileage which was about 14 city and 17.5 mpg highway. The 4:10 gears with the trailer package was a major contributor I would think. I then bought a new 22 Maverick Lariat AWD 2.0 Ecoboost which we also love. The gas mileage is almost double at 24+ city and 31.5 hwy.
