The current-generation Ford Everest has been a massive hit in Australia since its arrival there a few years ago, and demand for the SUV hasn’t wavered one bit. Meanwhile, Ford continues to add new Everest variants to the lineup to keep that interest going, including the off-road-focused Tremor and – more recently – the Everest Sport, which is more of a stylish around-town cruiser. The Everest Sport is already on sale in certain global markets, but now, it’s heading to Australia with Bi-Turbo power as well.
According to Australia’s CarSales, the Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo is actually cheaper than the V6-powered version of that same model, by a significant $4,800, coming in at $71,190 minus on-road costs. However, Ford will only sell 700 examples of this particular combination, which comes with the Touring Pack and prestige paint as standard equipment when customer deliveries begin next month.
The Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo looks just like its regular V6-powered counterpart, save for its fender badging, but the standard Touring Pack gives it quite a lot of extra equipment – Ford’s 360-degree camera, a tow hitch and bar, an integrated trailer brake controller, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. There are plenty of other niceties present, including power-adjustable leather-accented front seats that are heated and cooled, a 12-inch infotainment screen, an eight-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, and a 10-speaker sound system.
Under the hood, this limited-edition model features the Bi-Turbo 2.0L engine generating 154 kW (207 horsepower) and 500 nM (369 pound-feet) of torque, mated to a full-time four-wheel drive system. Customers can choose between five exterior color options – Blue Lightning, Alabaster White, Shadow Black, Meteor Grey and Aluminum. Order books for the new Ford Everest Sport Bi-Turbo are open now, and production has already begun – however, once all 700 units are spoken for, it’ll be the end of the line for this value proposition.

Bring the Everst to America!
Why can’t we buy this vehicle in the USA? It would be a smashing success.
Even though its a bit larger than the Edge, IF it would be priced appropriately, I imagine it would be the perfect replacement thereof. Everest being an SUV vs the Edge CUV means its much more off-road capable, fitting the ethos I believe FoMoCo is going for. Everest is also a 3-row which means it won’t fall victim to Farley’s disdain for 2-row options.

I’d buy it in a second if Ford would install a non-turbo V6 (3.3 L) 4X4, not AWD, and remove 90% of the electronic crap.
