Though modern vehicles are difficult to steal, the worst can – and does – still happen. Thankfully, The Blue Oval offers a number of features that help prevent theft altogether or track the vehicle if it does get stolen, thanks to the Security Package that’s being introduced across the lineup. The latest model to receive the tech is the 2026 Ford Expedition.

The Security Package is standard equipment on every 2026 Ford Expedition trim, including XL, Active, Tremor, Platinum, and King Ranch. The bundle includes a number of security features that work in conjunction with the FordPass smartphone app, but it’s important to note that said features require a paid subscription – although The Blue Oval does give one year of complimentary service upon activation. Once that period is up, 2026 Expedition owners interested in continuing the service must pay a monthly fee of $7.99.

The Security Package includes Theft Alerts, which deliver a push notification if an unauthorized party attempts to access, start, move, or factory reset the Expedition. Start Inhibit allows owners to remotely lock down their vehicles, ensuring that the 2026 Ford Expedition cannot be started even if an authorized key is nearby. Stolen Vehicle Services – which is already available on F-Series pickups – grants access to a 24/7 phone service managed by live agents, which allows owners to authorize recovery agents to work directly with law enforcement to attempt to track and recover the vehicle.

Finally, the Security Package entitles 2026 Expedition owners to Deductible Reimbursement, meaning Ford will cover deductible costs of up to $2,500 related to damage or loss caused by theft in select U.S. states.

Other changes headed to the 2026 Ford Expedition include the addition of a black-painted roof option, a first for the full-size SUV. It also loses its wireless smartphone charging pad, although it retains its USB smart charging multimedia ports. That means that passengers are still able to charge their smartphones, but it must be done via a wired connection.
