Hot off a refresh for the 2025 model year, the 2026 Ford Maverick received a modest list of changes and updates, like the revival of the front-wheel-drive in conjunction with the turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost I4 engine. Beyond that, the compact pickup gets another change, losing its standard power-sliding rear window.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat and Tremor lose the standard power-sliding rear window, which was formerly included on both of these trims at no extra cost. However, the feature isn’t gone completely – it’s still available as a standalone option on these trims, although there is no pricing information at the time of this writing.
Instead, the 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat and Tremor get the standard rear window with fixed privacy glass. That means this window is now standard across all trims.
Visually, the 2026 Ford Maverick receives another notable change. Black Ford ovals are no longer offered on the compact pickup as a factory installed option after previously being included on the Tremor and Lobo trims. That means traditional blue Ford ovals are once again standard as well as being the only factory installed emblem option. Ford Racing offers a separate Smoked Chrome Ford oval set specifically designed for Maverick models lacking a front camera, although it’s not a factory option.
The 2026 Maverick is gaining two new exterior color options known as Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat and Marsh Gray. Meanwhile, every trim in the lineup receives a complimentary one-year subscription for the Ford Connectivity Package, although buyers can select a seven-year subscription, too. However, the wireless smartphone charging pad is a thing of the past.
To help meet demand, Ford is boosting production capacity for popular configurations, including XL, Hybrid, and Lariat in all-wheel-drive (AWD) guise. Pricing for the entry level 2026 Maverick XL starts at $27,145, not including destination freight charges.

What’s with the rumor that Marsh Gray will not be available now?
How much is rear sliding window fords price
I wouldn’t buy a truck w/o the sliding window. It’s handy when hauling a long item, plus ventilation.
I’ve brought home a 16ft long gutter in my Maverick with the help of the sliding window. I don’t care if it’s powered or manual, it’s useful.
Typical Ford mid cycle decontenting.
How much is attributable to their EV losses this time though?
How about we eliminate all the “consumer reports” driving aids and bring responsible driving back in the equation. You bring out a great new product at a decent price and spend half of it’s life cycle making it more expensive. The wife and I wrote down the things we would want in a new vehicle, minimum. For winter- remote start and heated seats. Keyless entry and air conditioning. A decent size engine! No 2.0 anything! The ability to pick ONLY options we want.
Why is Ford such a dumpster fire?
Ford keeps decontenting and raising the price. A vehicle that was once affordable has become overpriced and not a great value especially considering all the quality problems
