We certainly see our fair share of accidents and other near-misses on the roadways these days, mostly due to the rise of dash cams and built-in vehicle cameras. Many of these incidents can be blamed on left turns, which is precisely why a lot of places prohibit such things, posting signs that inform drivers that such a move isn’t a good idea, at least, during times when traffic is heavier, if nothing else. In the case of this Ford Escape driver, well, we can’t really make any excuses for them, because they simply made a dumb decision here.
In this video recently posted at Reddit, we get a first-person view of the incident, which involves a Ford Escape driver attempting to turn left. Trouble is, this is a one-way street and there’s no way to cross over to the correct side, so the crossover’s driver just stops, blocking the left lane, facing the wrong direction. According to the person that posted the video, there is a no left turn sign at that intersection, but the driver apparently didn’t see it – nor the lack of a path to the other side of the road.
The OP also noted in the comments that the Ford Escape driver continued moving in the same (wrong) direction after the video ended, going all the way to the stoplight before turning around, rather than just doing so here after they realized their mistake. It’s a silly move that could have easily caused an accident, but luckily in this case, that didn’t happen.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the driver of some sort of Blue Oval vehicle make an ill-advised left turn. Earlier this year, we saw the driver of an older Ford Expedition take a left turn across traffic and smash into the camera car, in fact. Shortly after that, we witnessed a Ford Explorer make a left turn and nearly crash into the vehicle filming it, too.

Articles with crashes are one thing but this is a yawner.
