The Ford Maverick has been an undeniable hit since the day the compact pickup debuted for the 2022 model year, and not much has changed since then. Rather, even though the Maverick isn’t nearly as affordable as it used to be, buyers keep lining up to purchase the small, thrifty, and capable pickup, which is particularly true of the ever-popular hybrid variant. Thus, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that the Ford Maverick hybrid is also performing very well against other models it competes with, at least, somewhat indirectly.
According to Experian’s Q2 2025 State of the Automotive Finance Market report, the Ford Maverick accounted for 3.4 percent of total new hybrid registrations among retail consumers in the U.S. this past quarter, which is the seventh most of any hybrid vehicle on sale. The Toyota Camry finished first at a substantial 12.1 percent, followed by the Honda CR-V (10.1 percent), Toyota RAV4 (7.1 percent), Honda Civic (4.2 percent), Toyota Sienna (4.1 percent), and Toyota Grand Highlander (3.6 percent).
It is worth noting that the Ford Maverick hybrid lost a bit of market share quarter-over-quarter, however, as it accounted for 4.3 percent of all new hybrid registrations in Q2 2024. Regardless, the Maverick, in general, continues to set new personal records in terms of sales, and has a lot of momentum at the moment given the fact that it’s coming off its very first mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year, an action that resulted in a variety of updates for the compact pickup.
As Ford Authority recently reported, The Blue Oval sold a grand total of 48,041 Ford Maverick pickups in Q2 2025, which represents a significant 26.25 percent increase – outpacing the automaker’s overall 14.2 percent gain in the same time period by a large margin. At the same time, the Ford Maverick also retained its title as the best-selling hybrid pickup in America in Q2. Of the Maverick’s Q2 sales total, nearly 60 percent came from buyers who were new to the brand, too.

The ford maverick is a great little truck. My wife and I currently own a 23 and 24 hybrids. We loaned the 23 to our son for 6 months. Two months after he had to give it back he went and bought a 25 hybrid.
Love my 2024 Hybrid XL. The base model is so well equipped i didn’t bother with the XLT or Lariat trim levels. I exceed 40MPG all the time. I got mine 12/2023 and paid $25,200. Carvana just offered me $25,800. Not interested, but nice to know. I put a 10 year service contract on it and i plan to keep it at least that long.
